About
Whether you're here by chance, starting your faith journey, or seeking a church to call home, we’re glad you’ve found us.
Te Karaiti Te Pou Herenga Waka was built by our Mangere church community in 1979 with immense aroha, creating a unique sacred space of worship through a Tikanga Māori lens. Our name means Christ the Reconciler, acknowledging how we are reconciled to God and each other through Christ.
We are a parish within Te Pihopatanga o Te Tai Tokerau, part of the Māori Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and Polynesia. Our roots trace back to early Māori missionaries and their connection with Tangata Tiriti.
We welcome you to join us at our reflective 476 service at 9:30 am with Rev'd Moana Knight or our contemporary service, Koringarau, at 11 am, with Rev'd Sela Havili and Rev'd Keri-Ann Hokianga, who infuse modern elements into their karakia while still honouring our Mihingare whakapapa.
Thanks for visiting our site—have a look around, and we hope to see you at a Sunday Karakia soon.
